Trees and Open Spaces

Trees & Open Spaces Committee (TOSC) of the Hampstead Garden Suburb Residents Association

Our Suburb’s outstanding natural environment needs protecting. Join us!

Hampstead Garden Suburb was designed to create a sense of harmony between the built and the natural environment. We are a group of Suburb residents, working together to help preserve and enhance the natural setting, historic tree cover and green spaces that make this area such a wonderful and life-enhancing place to live.

Henrietta Barnett understood the vital importance of people having a connection to nature and this is why trees, hedges, gardens and landscapes are of particular importance to the design of the Suburb. Her philosophy also provides a valuable urban model for protecting human health and many of our planetary climate and life-support systems.

Please do get in touch if you want to help protect the significant veteran trees and green spaces of Hampstead Garden Suburb. We need and welcome both committee members and non-committee volunteers to join in this fulfilling mission. Contact us at Trees@hgsra.uk so that we can answer any questions you may have.
